CApital Campaign
At Hospital Shalom, we are working to close this gap by improving healthcare access and addressing the most urgent needs of our community. Our mission is more than just healthcare—it’s about restoring dignity, fostering hope, and building a stronger, healthier future for all.
However, the need for expanded services has become critical. To meet the growing demands of our community and ensure no one is left without care, we are launching a capital campaign to fund the construction of a 57,393 square-foot, two-story expansion wing.
This expansion will more than double our hospital’s capacity, allowing us to serve up to 100 patients per day and significantly reduce wait times for life-saving treatments. The new wing will include modern diagnostic, surgical, and birthing facilities, as well as dedicated space for medical specialists. It will also provide the infrastructure needed to address the region's severe healthcare disparities, especially for mothers, children, and those with chronic conditions.
Petén is the largest of Guatemala’s 22 departments. The region covers 36,000 square kilometers, or 45% of Guatemala’s land mass. It is home to more than 1 million people who largely live in poverty.
This project represents not just a physical expansion, but a commitment to a future where the people of Petén have access to the care they deserve. By supporting this campaign, you can be part of a mission that offers healing, hope, and the love of Christ to one of the most underserved regions in Guatemala.
